Biography:
Anna started playing Wheelchair Basketball at Chester Rockets in 1997 after having to retire from Hockey and Tennis due to knee problems. She was selected for the GB Women's team in March 1998 and has taken part in two World Championships, three European Championships and three Paralympic World Cup tournaments and also competed at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. Her top achievements include winning bronze at 1999 and 2003 European Championships and achieving Silver at the 2005 Paralympic World Cup.
Whilst at Chester Wheelchair Jets Anna was named Top Scorer, Player’s Player and Supporter’s player in the 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2006/2007 season, in addition, she was named Most Valuable Player and Club Person in the 2004/2005 season, and was noted for her Service to the Club and achieved the Disability Sport Award.
Anna was instrumental in the relaunch of her club in 2006 when they became the Celtic Warriors Wheelchair Basketball Club and moved from Chester into Wales and are now based near Wrexham.
Anna competed at the 2008 Paralympic World Cup in Manchester and unfortunately was not selected to compete at the Beijing Paralympic Games. She is currently having time out from International Basketball while she decides her sporting future.
