Anna Turney - Paralympian - Alpine Skiing

Biography:

For years, Anna Turney of Northampton had dreamed of snowboard racing for GB in the winter Olympics. But when an accident in 2006 left her paralysed from the waist down, her dreams were dashed.

However, she was determined to get back to the mountains. She soon took up monoskiing and was fast-tracked into the British Disabled Ski Team.  Within three years, Anna achieved the goal she set whilst in her hospital bed; to race in the Vancouver Paralympics.

She plans to win medals in the 2011 World Championships in the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia.
