

Harnessing Talent AthleteBiography:
Baz was a talented high jumper as a junior competing for Yorkshire and the North of England. She got into rowing through the University of Bristol which has links with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport. She spent nine months in Tasmania where she learned to scull and competed in the Australian Championships. Baz took up rowing at Lea Rowing Club at the age of 22 in order to meet new people.
She had an excellent start as a newcomer to the GB senior team in 2006. In the 2006 World Cup Series she attended, she came 6th with the eight in Munich, took a Bronze in Poznan and finished off in Lucerne winning the B Final. At the 2006 World Championships in Eton, Baz finished 11th in the women's pair.
Baz raced in the eight throughout the 2007 season, always reaching the A Final in the World Cup Series finishing 2nd, 5th and 4th. At the 2007 World Rowing Championships she won a Bronze medal and raced in the pair at the 2008 World Cup in Munich.
She has a first class honours degree in Sports Science from Birmingham University and an MSc in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Bristol.
She aspires to motivate young people to participate in sport and support rising athletes.
