Harnessing Talent AthleteBiography:
In 2004 Bill was discovered through the World Class Start Programme, GB Rowing's talent identification and rower development programme. Nine months later, he represented GB at the Junior World Rowing Championships where he finished 5th.
He took a gap from GB Rowing in 2006 to complete his A Levels and in 2007 was selected for the World U23 Championships winning a bronze medal in the double with Charles Cousins. That same year he was also a reserve for the senior team. In 2008 Bill was part of the men's quad which narrowly missed Olympic qualification. He then teamed up again with Cousins at the World U23 Championships where they showed their class winning the gold medal to become World U23 Champions.
Although still an Under 23, Bill had a great start to the 2009 season by achieving silver medals at two out of three of the World Cup Series in the senior men’s quad, and won the series overall. Unfortunately due to having contracted Mumps two weeks before the Senior World Championships he was pulled out of the boat. Bill recently graduated from Reading University with a degree in Politics and International Relations.
His sights are firmly set on gold medals at 2012 and 2016.
