Sarah Stevenson - Olympic Medallist - Taekwondo
Biography:Sarah started her career by becoming Junior World Champion in 1998, a year later she achieved 3rd place at the Olympics Qualification Tournament and therefore qualified for the Games. Two years later at the 2001 World Taekwondo Championship she won the Gold, becoming the first British Taekwondo World champion. Sarah also has three European Championship gold medals under her belt as well as a silver medal at the World Championships.
Stevenson finished fourth on her Olympics debut in 2000 and after a judging error was reversed in the quarter-finals of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she went on to win a Bronze medal, the first British medalist at the Olympics in this sport. Prior to the Games Sarah had had an excellent season, winning a gold medal at the Dutch Open and following this up with victory at the Belgian Open.
