CEO, Julie Whelan, today welcomed the appointment of Dame Kelly as a Patron of the Jaguar Academy of Sport.
Dame Kelly’s appointment comes as long-standing British automotive brand Jaguar has made its first major foray into UK sport by launching the Jaguar Academy of Sport which has the primary aim of recognising and supporting new British sporting talent through the provision of a Bursary Fund.
The Jaguar Academy will not only support new talent but also hold an annual Awards ceremony to recognise their successes.
Jaguar has also gathered together an array of British sporting legends to act as patrons for the Academy and inspire the young talent, alongside Dame Kelly, the likes of Sir Ian Botham, Gareth Edwards CBE, Dame Kelly Holmes DBE, Denise Lewis OBE, Sir Steve Redgrave and David Beckham OBE.
The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust’s CEO, Julie Whelan, today welcomed the appointment of Dame Kelly as Patron of the Jaguar Academy of Sport programme which was launched today.
Julie said, “We are delighted that Dame Kelly has been given the honour of becoming a Patron of the Jaguar Academy of Sport.
Such an appointment recognises the power role models like Kelly have in inspiring the next generation of British Talent, something which is close to her heart and one of the key reasons she set up her own charity!”
