This year, the DKH Legacy Trust has been working with Human Race, a professional event management agency staging multisport events, as the official charity partner for a number of fundraising events. We are now pleased to announce that alongside fellow charity partner, Breast Cancer Care, we are offering our first ever triathlon!
Breast Cancer Care is the UK's leading provider of information, practical assistance and emotional support for anyone affected by breast cancer, and the Trust is very proud to be working alongside such a great charity.
The Trust have a number of places available in two triathlons taking place over the weekend of 22 and 23 May at Dorney Lake, near Windsor – the rowing venue for London 2012.
On Saturday 22 May, the Eton Half-Distance Triathlon is taking place at the lake. The race starts with a 750m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for a 4-lap bike course covering 20km. The final 5km run follows a 2-lap loop along the side of the rowing lake on tarmac paths. The event is open to any athlete who can cover the distance and will be a real test of character and fitness.
The following day, Sunday 23 May, plays host to the ultra-FIT Triathlon Challenge offering a range of distances and team options available there is something for everyone. Whether you’re a triathlon expert or a complete novice and want to tackle it alone or as part of a team of three, this triathlon will be the perfect choice.
The ultra-FIT Tri Challenge will make a great day out for you and your friends, and with a children's ‘Scootathlon’ (4-8 year olds) also taking place just before the main event, it really will be a family day out.
The Trust will be attending the triathlon alongside Breast Cancer Care representatives, and is looking forward to a brilliant weekend of sport.
