On Wednesday 26 May, the Chair of the DKH Legacy Trust, Dame Kelly Holmes visited Alexandra Park school in North London to attend the Year 11 Graduation ceremony.

Dame Kelly with Headteacher and staff from Alexandra Park SchoolDame Kelly spoke to many of the students about their hopes and aspirations for the future, and gave a fine presentation to remind those attending that all students can achieve, but just wanting success is not enough.

Dame Kelly said, "You must have belief in yourself, but belief backed up by commitment and hard work. It is rare anything in life is handed to you on a plate - you need to get out there and seize it."

At the event, Dame Kelly was also presented with a cheque for £1500 raised by the school for the DKH Legacy Trust, this money will go towards supporting the Trust's various projects supporting other young people, including Get on Track and Backing Talent.

Julie Whelan, DKH Legacy Trust's Chief Executive, said, "It's brilliant to see young people who are willing to support their peers by fundraising for the Trust. Everyone at the Trust wish the students the best of luck with all of their exams and thank the whole school for raising the grand total - a great achievement."
