The SUSO Open Water Triathlon Event taking place this Saturday at Dorney Lake, the venue for the London 2012 Olympic Rowing and Kayaking, sees the DKH Legacy Trust as the official charity partner to the event in which our team of Olympians will be on hand to guide and mentor the 8-17 year olds.
Some of the sporting stars who will be on hand for the day includes Beijing Gold Medallist, Tim Brabants, six times World Champion Anna Hemmings, Olympic Swimmer and Double Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Ross Davenport and Olympic, World Champion and 2012 hopeful Rowers, Sarah Winckless, Toby Garbett, and Francesca Jus-Burke.
SUSO will also be offering refreshment to participants and their families, as well as prizes for the top finishers on the day. Additionally, any competitor fundraising £20 or more in sponsorship for the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust, goes into a draw to win a weekend away retreat for their entire family, courtesy of Natural Retreats.
“Wow... what a line up!” Dame Kelly Holmes, Chair of the DKH Legacy Trust exclaims. “With support like that, I can only see the young people who are competing really rising to the occasion and putting in some brilliant performances! I am delighted that my charity, the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust has been chosen to partner the event. Good luck to everyone taking part!”
Sean Uprichard, CEO at SUSO drinks, sponsor of the event adds:
“The inspiration and support these elite athletes will bring to both the emerging junior triathlon talent, as well as first timers taking on the significant challenge of completing a triathlon, is huge. There is no better way to motivate this next generation to apply a positive No Can’t Do attitude and we at SUSO are hugely grateful that these elite performers are giving up their time to support the event.”
