23/07/2010 News! Downing Street visit for CEO Julie Whelan!


DKH Legacy Trust are pleased to announce that CEO Julie Whelan attended No.10 Downing Street with other key stakeholders from the voluntary sector yesterday to hear the Prime Minister announce the launch of the National Citizen Service (NCS).

DKH Legacy Trust's CEO Julie WhelanThe specially selected group of people heard David Cameron share his flagship vision to build a 'Big Society' through the NCS initiative. It is designed to support young people to develop the skills and attitudes they need to get more engaged with their communities and become more active and responsible citizens.

All young people engaged will benefit from a residential experience, developing and delivering their own community project, ongoing volunteering and local graduations.

Julie Whelan said "I was delighted that the DKH Legacy Trust were invited to be present at this flagship announcement and is testament to the quality of our projects which get young people ready for success. "
